Is Dry Shampoo As Good As Regular Washing?
The short answer is of course no. Nothing can ever replicate the feeling of freshly washed hair! BUT….
Some days you just don’t have time to do a full wash and blow dry. And if you have some where to be that requires a decent looking hair do, dry shampoo will definitely be your bestie.
How Does Dry Shampoo Work?
Great question! Dry shampoo is usually made of an oil absorbing product – typically a dry powder – along with a fragrance. To use it, spray or shake the product on to the roots of your hair. Then you should brush or rub it into the hair to allow the naturally occurring oils on your scalp to be absorbed by the powder. Because slightly dirty hair can have a mildly unpleasant smell, the fragrance will help disguise the scent. Now your hair will be looking and smelling fresh as a daisy! It’s as simple as that.
How Often Can I Use Dry Shampoo?
You can use dry shampoo as often as you like! But some scalp health experts suggest having a break every few weeks. Because the powder like consistency of this type of product may build up on your scalp over time, it can cause irritation and possibly block the hair follicle at the root. This may lead to hair fall issues over time for some people. For most people though, using dry shampoo once or twice a week is absolutely fine. Just remember to wash your hair thoroughly when you do finally get to the real shampoo!
